Homemade Fruit Snacks

My son loves fruit snacks so I thought I would try making them myself. It is so easy and fun for the kids! You can get as creative as you want. Throw in some frozen fruit for extra flavor. This recipe is very simple. Enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 cups fruit or vegetable juice (any juice will work)
    4 tablespoons powdered gelatin
2–4 tablespoons honey or sugar (amount varies depending on how sweet you like them)
    Silicone molds (optional)

  • Pour the juice into a small saucepan
  • Sprinkle the powdered gelatin over the liquid and let sit for a few minutes. It will turn “wrinkly” as the gelatin blooms
Stir the juice and gelatin to combine (It will look thick at this point)
  • Heat the mixture over medium heat until the gelatin is completely dissolved – do not let boil!
  • When all the gelatin is dissolved you know it is finished
  • Take off the heat and stir in honey
    Stir in the honey
  • Pour the mixture into a 5×9 baking pan or silicone molds
  • Spray your pan with nonstick spray (just a little bit)
  • Place in the fridge for 2-3 hours to set
  • If not using molds, use a knife to loosen one edge of the set mixture and gently peel it out of your container
  • Use mini cookie cutters or a knife to cut up
  • ENJOY!
